Direccion architecture office took over Casa en el Bosque project. The family home, owned for 35 years, serves as a cherished gathering place where generations reconnect with nature and each other. The design project focused on preserving the home’s identity through simplicity, harmony, and “silent luxury,” using natural materials and family heirlooms to create a peaceful, inspiring environment that nourishes the soul.
The client is family who has owned this house for 35 years. From grandparents to grandchildren and dogs, this is a gathering point in the weekends and vacations. A place where the family goes to reconnect with nature, spend quality time with each other, cook, relax and nourish each other.
The key challenge was to preserve the identity of the house and the family: simplicity, harmony and years of cherished memories.
This project reflects in a very personal way the clients’ vision and that of Direccion office: “silent luxury”. Where the connection between nature and the senses -touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste- become the central focus of design.
The spaces that are inhabited have the capacity to transform one’s emotions and energy. Not only because of the memories they keep, but also because of how they make one feel: introspection, peace, harmony, inspiration. This house in the forest is refuge for the soul.
To create an environment of simplicity and harmony that nourishes the inhabitant, the architects used sand and terracota tones throughout the house. Natural materials such as wood, stone, and linen fabrics that age with dignity and that with time acquire a patina that make them even more beautiful, unique and interesting.
Also many objects from the family heirloom and from trips they’ve made throughout their lives were integrated as part of the interiors and decor.
