This restored Neoclassical property on the port of Symi masterfully combines traditional architecture with modern design. The house retains its authentic features, such as exposed wooden beams and textured plaster walls, while embracing contemporary functionality and style. The interior boasts an open-plan layout with a double-height ceiling and large windows, creating a bright and airy ambiance. A soft palette of whites and beiges, complemented by natural materials like marble, terrazzo, and wood, brings sophistication and warmth.
In the living area, a neutral sofa and vintage dark wood chairs surround a black glass coffee table, with a marble console and sleek black fireplace enhancing the space. Vera sconces and custom lighting add a delicate yet impactful touch. The kitchen features a cooker framed by deep red tiles and custom inox-and-glass cabinetry, paired with a long wooden dining table under unique cast glass pendant lights.
The bathroom exudes a spa-like tranquility with a monolithic marble sink, terracotta floors, and a circular shower wrapped in a delicate curtain. Iron candle sconces and soft lighting highlight the blend of old-world charm and minimalist luxury.
The mezzanine bedroom showcases the island’s character with an open layout, large windows, and carefully chosen decor. A custom metal bed contrasts with rich textiles and a tapestry inspired by Byzantine influences.
White marble side tables, a green wooden cabinet, and rustic furniture create a cozy, artistic atmosphere. Throughout the house, natural materials and Mediterranean design elements maintain harmony with Symi’s heritage while incorporating modern comforts. This seamless blend of tradition and innovation makes the property a celebration of the island’s architectural legacy.
