CHRISTOPH GOE WINNER OF THE D3 CONTEST FOR YOUNG DESIGN TALENTS 2014

This is a reinterpretation of the Shaker* peg rail from around 1880. Like its predecessor, Ordnungshalber runs around the perimeter of a room, dividing its wall horizontally into an upper and lower section. The rail can be adorned with wedge hooks, small shelves or boxes as desired. The rail’s protruding profile makes it possible to hang plans or posters on it and provides space for clothes, books, pictures and ornaments. Simply a home for everything.For the eleventh time in a row Koelnmesse has commissioned the German Design Council to act as overseers and organizers of the young designers’ exhibition and prize at imm cologne 2014, the international furnishing show. Up to 20 new works of design students and young designers from around the world, were preselected and featured in a special exhibition. The three most talented up-and-coming international designers for 2014 were chosen from these nominees.

The D3 Contest, initially named inspired by cologne, is one of the best known international competitions for young designers. Since the first announcement in 2004 the number of participants increased continuously from around 300 to more than 680 entries for the exhibition at imm cologne 2013. Within the last decade all in all 333 products from 422 designers from all around the world have been exhibited at imm cologne.
