Mob architects is an architectural practice founded in 1998 by Vassilis Baskozos and Daria Tsagaraki who have been working together since 1992. Their projects have to date included small and large-scale constructions such as industrial buildings and settings, office buildings, public and private buildings and open spaces, many private residences and residential complexes, interior designs, etc.
The practice has twice been a Greek nominee for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture of “Mies van der Rohe Award” (2003, 2005), and was awarded with the First Prize in the “Best House” category for the period of 1999 – 2004 by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, for the project “Two-Family Vacation House”. The practice has also gained a “WAF shortlisted” nomination in the “Private House” category at “World Architecture Festival 2008”, for the project «Four Houses», and was honoured by the Hellenic Association of Architects, receiving the Award for “Best Realized Building” of the years 2005 – 2010 in Greece, for the project “House in Chalandri” in 2011.
The team’s work has been frequently presented in architectural exhibitions within and outside Greece such as: the Exhibition of Mediterranean Architecture in Montpellier, France (2000), the “Athens-Scape: The 2004 Olympics and the Metabolism of the City” exhibition in London (2003), the EU – Japan Year of People-to-People Exchanges (2005), the Third Biennale of Young Architects (2001), the “On: The Modern and the Contemporary in European and Japanese culture” exhibition in Tokyo (2006), the Industrial Architecture Exhibition: “Contemporary Industrial Buildings in Greece” (1997), etc. Finally, the team’s projects are frequently covered by the local architectural and technical press and have been presented in international architecture websites and Reviews including: L’ Architettura (Italy), ViA arquitectura (Spain), DBZ (Germany), Architecture Méditerranéenne (France), Abstract (Belgium), Stavba (Czech Republic), Design Vision (Hong Kong), etc.
