PHOTOGRAPHER ZSOLT HLINKA CAPTURES BUDAPEST'S OLD BUILDINGS AS TUNNELS TO THE SKY

Text by the photographer

The location of the series are hundred year old buildings of Nagykörút, which are completely reintepreted by the chosen perspective, changing our ordinary spatial perception. As the buildings are framing the sky, the contrast is getting maximized between geometric, sealed networks of architectural forms and the unsubstantial, infinite space of the sky. Looking at the accurately constructed, central photographs, it feels like the buildings are tunnels driving to the infinity of the sky – and this is where time apperas, as if the floors leading to infinity represents time and age of the buildings.
