Την Τετάτη 24 Μαΐου 2023 η ημερίδα ΕΣΩ επιστρέφει, για 11η συνεχόμενη χρονιά, στην Αίθουσα Τριάντη του Μεγάρου Μουσικής Αθηνών για να υποδεχθεί τους σημαντικότερους εκπροσώπους της εγχώριας και διεθνούς αρχιτεκτονικής και δημιουργικής σκηνής γύρω από τη θεματική ‘Multiverse’ που προτείνει τη συνύπαρξη πολλών και διαφορετικών μορφών φυσικής και τεχνητής ζωής.

Εστιάζουμε σε έναν βιώσιμο τρόπο φυσικής κατοίκησης στον πλανήτη μας. Λαχταρούμε τις βασικές αρχές της συνύπαρξης ενώ αγωνιζόμαστε να προστατεύσουμε την ατομικότητα. Μπαίνουμε στον άγνωστο κόσμο της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης. Εξερευνούμε ψηφιακούς κόσμους φτιαγμένους από ανθρώπους για ανθρώπους.

Το φετινό θέμα, «MULTIVERSE», γεφυρώνει περαιτέρω τις θεωρίες για τη συνεχιζόμενη αλλαγή με τις πρώτες τους επιροές στους τομείς της αρχιτεκτονικής, του σχεδιασμού και των τεχνών.

Το “MULTIVERSE” προτείνει πολλαπλά συνυπάρχοντα περιβάλλοντα.

Οι Grimshaw Architects και η ελληνίδα αρχιτεκτόνισσα και μέλος τους, Χρύσα Σταματοπούλου θα βρεθούν ανάμεσα στους ομιλητές της φετινής διοργάνωσης ΕΣΩ 2023. Η διάλεξή τους θα έχει τίτλο “Συνδέοντας την κοινωνία: Πώς τα έργα υποδομών σχεδιασμένα γύρω από τους ανθρώπους δημιουργούν νέους πυρήνες-προορισμούς.”

Κάθε πόλη είναι μοναδική λόγω των ανθρώπων της. Οι Grimshaw architects, κατασκευάζοντας έργα υποδομών που όχι μόνο τους υποστηρίζουν, αλλά τους παροτρύνουν να αναπτυχθούν, έχουν την ευκαιρία να δημιουργήσουν πυρήνες-προορισμούς που δίνουν ζωή στης αρτηρίες της πόλης.

Λίγα λόγια για τους αρχιτέκτονες

Η Χρύσα Σταματοπούλου είναι αρχιτέκτονας μέλος των Grimshaw London, όπου δουλεύει σε έργα υποδομών μεγάλης κλίμακας. Έχει εργαστεί στην Ελλάδα, το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και την Αυστραλία σε έργα μεταφορών και υποδομών καθοριστικής σημασίας για τις πόλεις στις οποίες αυτά έχουν κατασκευαστεί. Εστιάζει στον τρόπο με τον οποίο το κάθε έργο επηρεάζει τους ανθρώπους, την κινητικότητα και τις συνδέσεις, καθώς και την ενσωμάτωση του στο κτισμένο και άκτιστο περιβάλλον. Grimshaw Architects will participate on ESO 2023. Their lecture will have the title “Connecting Communities: The Power of People-Centric Infrastructure that creates Destination Hubs”.

The Elizabeth line: line-wide design London, UK

Underpinning passengers’ positive experience of the new Elizabeth Line network, a consortium of Atkins, Grimshaw, GIA Equation and Maynard has created a suite of interior finishes for stations and tunnels that includes elements for cladding, flooring, platform screens, seating, wayfinding and lighting.

Drawing on the expertise of its multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers and product designers, the Elizabeth Line components introduce a consistent look and feel to the central London stations. The design of the range takes into consideration how qualities of light, tactility, sight and sound affect everyone’s journey, pairing the impact of passenger experience with practical concerns for optimum performance and maintenance.

HS2 London Euston Station London, UK

Located between Coburg Street to the west and the existing Euston Station to the east, the station will also be accessible via entrances to the north, south and west of the station. Fully accessible step-free internal entrances to the existing Euston Network Rail Station and London Underground Station will also enable, for the first time, seamless connections between Northern, Victoria, Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan Lines.

The scale of the new HS2 London Euston station means they have the opportunity to create a new truly public civic space for London, a place that responds to transport and passenger needs and becomes part of the existing urban fabric and community.

Terra ― The Sustainability Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Terra opened to the public in 2021 as one of the top three attractions of the Expo 2020 Dubai, and aims to illuminate the ingenuity and possibility of architecture as society looks to intelligent strategies for future sustainable living.

Drawing inspiration from complex natural processes like photosynthesis, the dynamic form of the Pavilion is in service to its function, capturing energy from sunlight and fresh water from humid air. The relationship of building to site, and to its physical and cultural contexts is critical, as the facility’s strength lies in its capacity to demonstrate a new way of living sustainably in a challenging desert environment.

About the architects

Chrissa Stamatopoulou is a greek architect and also an active member of Grimshaw Architects. She is a senior architect at Grimshaw London, working on large scale infrastructure projects. She has worked in Greece, UK and Australia on key infrastructure projects that have shaped the future of the cities they’ve been built in. She has been focusing on the way projects impact people, mobility and integration to their built and unbuilt environment. She’s a strong advocate for making architecture accessible to everyone. In that spirit she’s been working with education charities on creating student design challenges and workshops.
