The new Turkish Embassy in Berlin‘s embassy district makes reference to Ottoman architecture on many levels. For instance, the traditional Girih pattern was newly interpreted and adapted for use in the design of the sandstone facade, the copper-clad portal and the glass walls of the foyer. In addition to offices for approximately 100 members of staff, the modern building also contains a ballroom for 1,400 people.
