These two houses are situated above the archaeological site of Kionia, on the west side of Tinos island. Originally the buildings consisted of two houses. They were typical commercial constructions in pseudo-Cycladic style with small volumes and dubious elements copied from vernacular architecture. The new owners wished each building to be remodeled in just one house, along with the upgrading of their whole image. With this in mind, the first floor of the lower building was demolished to provide an unobstructed view to the second house. Internally, many walls were eliminated, since the owners wanted integrated free spaces. The living-rooms and kitchens are now one space, as the bedrooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms.
Ncmp Architects was founded in 1995 by Nefeli Capon and Matteo Pergamian. Their base is Athens and their activity includes both design and construction in a variety of projects in Greece.
