Una Nuova Generazione (UNG) is a collective of young professionals that aims to highlight the value of the new generation of designers through the organization of cultural activities.
Their main activity is a traveling cultural project that defines a moment of confrontation between professionals, institutions and citizens to reflect on the role of Architecture in the contemporary city.
A theme that is declined from time to time with a particular sensitivity towards the identity of the territory hosting the initiative and its cultural resources. UNG animates the debate on the future of the territories by linking the most innovative young local designers and professionals who bring their own international experiences in a local dimension.
Moreover, UNG proposes the construction of a digital platform that will be enriched with contents and insight to help every user to understand the impact that the enhancement of architectural and cultural resources can have on the territories.
Last year, Una Nuova Generazione carried out and realized with the auspices of Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso D’Oro a 3 days long project in Crema, Italy. The place historically elected by the community as the cradle of its identity is confirmed as a space for discussion, dealing with a central theme for the community itself: the role of Architecture in the well-being of the city.
It does so through the eyes of 22 young local architects who showcase their master thesis projects. 3 days full of initiatives articulated around the exposure of these theses: more than 100 drawings and 30 architectural models.
The opening of the event to a multi-generational dialogue with the community is guaranteed by a series of collateral activities at the exhibition that will animate the spaces of the city museum:
- a moment of orientation for high school students through the testimony of 8 young professionals
- a moment of discussion starting from the personal reflections of some esteemed professionals and academics around the role of the architect in the well-being of the city
- a workshop focused on elaborating reflections for the city of Crema
