The upcoming ECOWEEK International Conference and Workshops for `Green` Design & Architecture for students and young professionals – architects, landscape architects, designers and engineers -will take place in Rome, Italy in September.
ECOWEEK hosts award-winning Japanese architect KENGO KUMA, RURAL STUDIO architect Elena Barthel, INGENHOVEN architects Ulf Meyer, and ‘green’ building experts from Italy and abroad. Workshops – some hosted by architects inside their offices – will address issues of ‘green’ urban planning in real sites in Rome, ‘green’ design of new buildings, ‘green’ renovation of historic existing buildings, and small scale interventions and hands-on light construction in real sites in Rome.
ECOWEEK will host site visits to ‘green’ buildings in Rome, and historic tours of the city. ECOWEEK is also an occasion for networking among the international participants and speakers joining ECOWEEK from around the world: Italy, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Palestine, Poland, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, and USA.
ECOWEEK international conferences and ‘green’ design & architecture workshops take place in 10 countries in Europe and the Middle East, bringing together experts, young professionals and students, promoting ‘green’ buildings, networking, and getting to know – and to propose interventions in – important cities around the world. ECOWEEK is an NGO promoting environmental awareness and the principles of sustainability. More on ECOWEEK at www.ecoweek.org
