Ποιες είναι οι διαδικασίες ανακύκλωσης πλαστικού 2.0;

Μπορεί το 3D Printing να μετατρέψει τα πλαστικά απορρίμματα σε πρώτη ύλη;

 

Το The New Raw Plastic αποτελεί το πρώτο διεθνές εργαστήρι ανακύκλωσης πλαστικού για 3d-printing, το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Ερμούπολη Σύρου από τις 5 έως τις 13 Σεπτεμβρίου.

 

Κατά τη διάρκεια του workshop, designers και ερευνητές από την Ελλάδα και την Ολλανδία, με εξειδίκευση στην ανακύκλωση πλαστικού, το 3d-printing και το place making, θα παροτρύνουν τους συμμετέχοντες αφενός να δημιουργήσουν prototypes που συνδυάζουν τη χρήση της τεχνολογίας του 3d-printing για την ανακύκλωση πλαστικού, και αφετέρου να καλλιεργήσουν ιδέες που ενισχύουν τη νεανική επιχειρηματικότητα στην Ελλάδα.

 

Πιο συγκεκριμένα, οι συμμετέχοντες θα δουλέψουν σε 3 διεπιστημονικές ομάδες και θα πάρουν μέρος στις διαδικασίες:

1) Χαρτογράφησης ροών πλαστικών απορριμάτων στο νησί της Σύρου.

2) Συλλογής, επεξεργασίας χρησιμοποιημένων πλαστικών και παράγωγης πρώτης ύλης για 3διάστατη εκτύπωση.

3) Σχεδιασμού και παραγωγής νέων προϊόντων.

4) Ανάπτυξης σεναρίων για νέα μοντέλα κυκλικής οικονομίας.

Επιπλέον, στη διάρκεια της εβδομάδας, θα γίνονται σχετικές παρουσιάσεις, συζητήσεις και εκδρομές, ενώ το τελικό αποτέλεσμα θα παρουσιαστεί σε κεντρικό σημείο της Σύρου και της Αθήνας με τη μορφή έκθεσης.

 

Το The New Raw Plastic θα διεξαχθεί από το Σάββατο 5 Σεπτεμβρίου έως την Κυριακή 13 Σεπτεμβρίου, στο Εργαστήρι Βιομηχανικού Σχεδιασμού του Τμήματος Μηχανικών Σχεδίασης Προϊόντων και Συστημάτων του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου στη Σύρο.

The New Raw Plastic is the first international hands-on workshop, held in Greece, providing a sustainable method for 3D-printing and plastic recycling. This concept is developed in collaboration with a vibrant network of Dutch and Greek experts and enthusiasts. The New Raw Plastic, will take place in Syros and Athens during September 2015. Through workshops and public events, it will bring together students, researchers, academics, environmentalists, local comunity and local authorities.

• Local production (reducing the ecological cost to transportation) – instead of global production,

• Singular production with no excess manufacturing – instead of mass production,

• Conscious and active user involvement that allow us to use and care for our products longer – instead of blind consumerism.

• Making raw material – instead of knowing nothing about the materials that make our world.

The New Raw Plastic will be the first international hands-on workshop, held in Greece, providing a sustainable method for regional production with local processing of plastic waste.

 

The New Raw Plastic will take place on Syros during 5-13 September 2015; it will bring together students, researchers, academics, environmentalists, the local comunity and local authorities. During the workshop, the participants will focus on:

(1) mapping, collecting and sorting of plastic waste,

(2) producing 3d-printing plastic ink

(3) designine and making the final product.

 

The workshop will explore and trace the local sources of plastic waste. By employing 3D-printing, various plastics will be recylced. The schedule will include presentations, discussions, field trips to plastic polluted locations (beaches, waterways, etc) and to plastic processing facilities (small-scale factory). The final results will be presented in an exhibition.

 

Two follow-up sessions will take place in Athens (14-15 September), in collaboration with the Dutch Embassy, FabLab Athens and City Index Lab. The results of The New Raw Plastic will be presented in the Dutch Embassy at a networking event; representatives from related industries and cultural institutes will be invited.
