Fragments
Entos was a two day event that took place on the 23rd and 24th of April 2016, a production of the Onasis Cultural Foundation. An outcome generated from the collaboration between Swop and Breakfast Club, along with three guest hosts – Dimitris Sotiriou, Michalis Sionas and Negros tou Moria. Using dance, narration and singing, the hosts and music group BC produced three individual music walk-throughs, through installations within and around the Hospice.
Each walk-through was created to show a different audiovisual experience. The various installations and objects were meant to amplify the walk’s main theme. Taking into consideration their temporary character, the actual Hospice use, environmental factors and the variation of hosts and themes, the installed structures tried to work as theme stops, while a main concert background was set inside the Hospice. The end products were objects and installations made of paper, cardboard, wood and acrylic, processed with a laser CNC and in some cases using coloured light.
The main stage was the final destination for the various walks and a concert stage for BC and guests, where an installation called Fragments worked as it’s background .
Fragments is a hexagonal mirror system with metal rings, suspended at the concert area. It was meant to be the main background theme; a light structure that would be seamlessly installed inside the evergreen Hospice yard; a shade of natural beauty in the otherwise highly dense and concrete filled area of Kypseli. It’s physical shape was blurred and interwoven with the natural environment, the surrounding concrete buildings, the wind, the coloured lights and the transition from day to night.
