Description
At the end of the 16th century, the Dutch city of Delft produced earthenware with blue decorations, as an alternative for the imported blue-white Chinese porcelain. Three centuries later the color showed up again, this time in fashion, when the ubiquitous blue jean was born. In the 19th century, jeans were dyed with the color blu de Geneva, which thereby transformed into the ever since popular blue jeans. The special character of the 16th century blue shades on the ceramics and the features of the washed blue jeans come together in this new collection, with detailed 3D printed jewels, covered by a blue degraded gradient.
History meets innovation
The 3D printed jewels for this new collection are hand-dyed by designer Elleke van Gorsel herself, using artisanal methods. Because of the hand painted coloring process, each item has it`s own unique blue degrade color signature. The collection consists of unique chains with a 3D printed bead and crafted bamboo, earrings, rings, ear pins, beads, pendants, bow ties and hair-accessory.
Studio-ePosh is a luxury brand, that knows how to combine rich tradition and attention to detail with modern innovative production technologies resulting in a perfect merger: authentic contemporary design. Elleke van Gorsel, the artist behind Studio-ePosh, designs elegant textile- and 3D printed accessories
with a high tactile quality. Some colors of the 3D printed collection are created by dyeing with historical natural materials, developed by the artist herself. With a view to sustainability and social responsibility all designs of Studio-ePosh are locally produced in the Netherlands.
Designs of Studio-ePosh are sold in beautiful museumshops like the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Van Abbe Museum Eindhoven, in selected art / jewelry galleries, interior / design / concept stores, and high-end fashion boutiques in the Netherlands and abroad.
