After the mysterious exhibition during Fuorisalone 2016 in the Brera Design District, this year JCP lands in Salone del Mobile. Milano trascending the physical boundaries of the design world.
JCP is an eclectic brand that aims to change the design status quo in a revolutionary way.
Brainchild of a radical think tank in 2015 in Milan, it was conceived by architect Livio Ballabio and is orchestrated by CTRLZAK studio.
Using hybridization and a multidisciplinary approach as distinguishing features, the presented designs investigate the theme of time perception between physics and imagination. The creations of the JCP universe are like contemporary artifacts that interpret notions of the past through new forms and technologies projecting them at the same time in a future dimension. With JCP a new extra-ordinary reality is taking shape; the past blends with the future and vice versa, in a continuous transformation.
Katia Meneghini, Thanos Zakopoulos and the rest of CTRLZAK studio’s team are behind the art direction of the JCP universe for a second time. The new artificers that have been selected to give life to its creations this year are Sam Baron and Richard Hutten, in addition to new projects by Alessandro Zambelli and CTRLZAK. JCP enriches its universe with pure geometries, optical illusions and primordial materials. Not mere objects, each creation is the representative of a story that transcends the perceived reality. They are artifacts able to enter our everyday life and transform the conventional concept of living.
At Salone del Mobile, the Glass Pagoda exhibition invites the visitor to enter into the abode of a traveller from this universe. Multi-layered transparencies and metaphysic geometries will guide the public in a parallel dimension through the JCP atmosphere and creations, whose coordinates will be: hall 7, stand H25.
At Fuorisalone, JCP will be present in the exhibition ANIME, near Duomo at the Scultura & Design showroom (via Hoepli 6), from the 1st to the 11th of April. A series of intricate installations will give shape to the deepest soul of a few selected brands such as Gianfranco Ferré Home, Jumbo Collection and Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors. The mysterious soul of JCP will be narrated with a unique visual and sensorial set-up. It’s aim is to investigate the most hidden side of the living space.

About CTRLZAK studio
CTRLZAK is a hybrid studio that integrates diverse disciplines and cultures. Founded by artists and designers Katia Meneghini and Thanos Zakopoulos, the duo’s creations are inspired by their experiences around the globe, their own rich cultural backgrounds, and the natural world that surrounds us.
The studio creates artworks, objects and spaces but above all points of reflection where form follows meaning. CTRLZAK’s projects and extensive research into tradition and cultural context create a new hybrid future by learning continuously from the past. Each project is a story waiting to be told, with a multitude of forms and endings. Each one experiments with diverse methods of narration where symbolism and irony go beyond aesthetics and functionality in order to make people contemplate their actions and the world that we live in.
CTRLZAK’s creations have been extensively exhibited in galleries around the world and their work has been selected by museums and institutions like MOMA, the Louvre and the Venice Art Biennale, to name a few.
