BLOCK 146 / STONES AND WALLS

The restaurant – bar Block 146 was built in block 146, Nea Erithrea, in order to become a pole of attraction at all hours of the day. The design aim was to create a classic space with industrial references atmosphere that would resemble a New York bistro.

 

The two central columns bisecting the space, defined the bar setup in parallel with the living room, so that the line of sight and movement is free and unhindered. However the selection and use of materials needed to provide the necessary unity. For this purpose, the chip embracing the bar turns to the floor, and meets the wood whose implementation is shifted diagonally towards the rear of the floor. Meanwhile, a metallic structure joins the composition of illuminated shelves of bar with the pendant couch, constituting the basic support of lighting in ceiling height.

 

The selection of wall lights with arm in black and yellow, and green leather couches, attribute not only a chromatic touch but also the right atmosphere outside the boundaries of the impressive bar. In the quest for warm surfaces on which reflections and shadows would be diffused, the selection of eco plaster gave the desired result.

The brick in darker gray hue creates a game of depth in the darkest corner of the room with low height, while its use on all external store sides alternates, as it brokes by the iron windows.

 

The presence of additional materials and structures such as mirrors, neon lights, graphics, outer air channels and blinds created the atmosphere so that the moods would change, contrasts would be favored and concern for a bold, time enduring architecture would be raised.
