Coca-Cola HBC – Design for Ambassador Academy Event
Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCH) serves 581 million people in 28 countries. It is one of the largest bottlers and vendors of The Coca-Cola Company’s products in the world, and the largest one based in Europe. In 2014, the company planned an original event, dedicated to turning its leadership teams, employees and suppliers from just stakeholders into being Ambassadors of the brand. The event took place in several countries, including Austria (2 different locations), Bulgaria, Greece (2 different locations), Hungary, Italy, Latvia, and Serbia. In these locations, Stirixis Group carried out the concept design, adaptation, construction management and site engineering.
The event’s three main objectives were to engage, educate and challenge the attendees. Stirixis’ team accurately translated the brief into the space and designed a holistic memorable experience, including playful elements. The setup had to be flexible and movable in order to be applied in the different locations. It was divided into 4 sections, based on the stages given through the client’s brief, and created a different experience in each section. A heart-shaped desk was placed in the center of the whole installation, to operate as the main “action point”. It forms an interactive spot for serving the product, leaving a testimonial and getting a memorabilia.
The basic materials used were tailor made surfaces of red and white melamine, stickers and laser cut-outs for the messaging applied on the melamine panels. To motivate participants to be actively involved in the activities and make them feel relaxed, there were not much sitting furniture used, just few benches and poufs of informal style.
Kafkas Retail Stores – New Retail Concept
Stirixis Group created the new retail concept for Kafkas, the leading Greek chain of electrical equipment and energy solutions, with 46 stores and a turnover of almost 100 million Euros in 2014. A multidimensional project that lasted several months, with the initial stage of defining and recording the brand strategy, on which were the following decisions regarding design of the operations, the store concept, customer service and customer experience.
The strategic direction of Kafkas being the top expert in integrated technology solutions, set the main design axes the proper product organization, increased functionality, incorporation of high technology and personalized service. The new retail concept offers a unique experience to visitors, while its biggest innovation is the new customer flow model and operations of the stores that aim at a smooth and fast customer service. The so far existing service bench has been removed and the storage space is now accessible, creating an outstanding open and fully handy shop.
In a technologically advanced space, customers with the assistance of Kafkas well-trained personnel can discover all products and their functions also through tablets devices and digital screens placed in stores. Besides the store design itself, Stirixis team delivered the new graphic identity and signage study that creates a holistic experience, strengthens the brand inside the stores and maximizes sales.
As Kafkas is a healthy company, with continuous network growth, another important factor of the design was to create a flexible, recurring and adaptable design that would be easily applied in other stores. So far, already six branches around Greece follow the new concept, and it will be further rolled out in both existing and new stores!
Antonis Zontos, CEO of Kafkas, reported for the collaboration with Stirixis: “Having decided to proceed with the new concept 2020 for our stores, we knew that it would be a challenging task as we set to make a radical change in the store experience and raise the industry standards to a level that would solidify our leading position in the years to come. The outcome fully justified our choice of Stirixis. The new concept, as developed and implemented, creates an overall image of modernity, technology and innovation whereas the color code conveys a light and friendly ambience where customers enjoy a unique shopping experience. In this process Stirixis quickly came to grips with our strategic and operational priorities and considerations and went on to provide us with fresh ideas and solutions. They worked smoothly and effectively with our people to create something that we are all proud to sign.”
Alexander Athanassoulas, CEO of Stirixis Group, said: “The new Kafkas shop concept is the result of an excellent collaboration between the two organizations. It is also the result of a combination of common strategic thinking, the systemic and holistic approach of Stirixis, and the professional and innovative philosophy of Kafkas management team. It is our great pleasure that yet another retail leader belongs today to our customer society and I thank all those who worked hard for this project.”
