The training center comprises of 4 learning rooms of different capacities, Computer lab, Auditorium, Amphitheater, Product display room, Multi product demonstration lab, Library, 3 Discussion rooms, Director’s residence, a dormitory and 55 rooms for accommodation. The training facility also accommodates one large dining space, central kitchen, and recreation facilities like Gym, badminton, table tennis and carrom.
The terrain of the entire plot has been effectively used to achieve a more functional space. Entire space has been divided in separate blocks, each dedicated to a specific facility. The layout ensures a smooth functioning of all the areas and activities and also allows maximum integration and collaboration amongst the employees and the training staff. The design also consolidates different activities and operations to maximize synergies, cost-effectiveness and user friendliness.
The natural and undulating terrain forms the basis of the linear placement of each block. The configuration of the building envelope naturally blends with the site rather than appearing bulged and conspicuous. This has been achieved by using green roofs which also form the terrace gardens. These green roofs reduce heat and also help to insulate building for sound. Green roofs also minimize Rainwater runoff; the water is systematically collected, stored and re-used.
The building blocks are sunk into the ground and are surrounded by high retaining walls. Thus light wells are used as an element to admit day light and fresh air through. These light wells serve as ventilation paths forcing the air through the building by chimney action, minimizing dependency on cooling. Thus the environmental load is minimized by integrating natural light and ventilation.
