This serene and sophisticated but highly welcoming contemporary garden is beautiful year-round, but in summer it comes into its won its lush growth provides a cool oasis refreshing the senses with its color choices – mainly dark green, white and grey with its gravel river mimicking water over which one approaches the house on stepping stones.
The project comprises of a drought-resistant garden with native plants and an authentic feel including a section that would evoke the tropical vegetation. We have created a seamless blend of house, garden, and outdoor living spaces in tandem with integrating with the surrounding landscape.
We use light in pursuing how the light sculpts shapes not only the masses, angles and planes but also the soft mounded shapes of shrubs and the multifaceted rough shapes of the rocks that are a presence throughout the garden.
The design has created strong contrasts between manicured and untamed sunlight and shade, Mediterranean and tropical, contemporary and timeless, rich color and monochrome and between the rough textures of rock and olive wood and the smooth engineered stones.
