THE 1st PRIZE OF THE 6TH SALONE SATELLITE AWARD 2015 / CLOUD SERIES BY XUBERANCE

This 3D-Printed lighting series is inspired from the cloud patterns of stone sculptures in ancient Chinese royal gardens. 

Designers extracted the traditional pattern and translated it into 3D modeling language. It is a re-interpretation of the rich Chinese art culture using cutting-edge digital sculpting modeling techniques. 

The design process employs designers visual experience of the ever-changing clouds for the inspiration of the 36 different versions of the “Cloud Series”. 

 

It is an innovative design that embodies the cultural heritage using advanced contemporary techniques of production. This series of 3D printed lamps has undoubtedly become the new standard of social aspiration opening up a new era of material and manufacturing culture.
