Margarita Boulaki of Squire and Partners architecture and design practice will be among the speakers of the upcoming 3rd Conference of Architecture and Tourism which will take place on the island of Rhodes, in Greece on 20-21 October 2018. Her speech is titled Urban tourism: Destination London and concerns London as the top European destination regarding the ever-growing tourism. She will also discuss how the expectations and demands of visitors shape the tourism industry as well as the new trends in construction and urban landscape.
Margarita Boulaki is an architect with 5+ years of professional experience in Greece, Copenhagen and London. She has a wide academic background with studies in architecture, environmental design, international relations and diplomacy, in five European universities.
Her main professional, both practical and theoretical focus is on large scale, international building projects (hotels, offices, mixed use developments) as part of her vision of how cities and buildings should be shaped to respond to the environmental, social and ethical challenges of the 21st century.
Currently, Margarita is working for Squire and Partners in London, an architecture and design practice with experience spanning four decades, earning it an international reputation for architecture informed by the history and culture of where it is placed.
Their award winning portfolio, for some of the world’s leading developers, includes masterplans, private and affordable residential, workspace, retail, education and public buildings.
In addition the practice has a dedicated interior design department, which has created a number of bespoke product ranges.
