The Body` encourages a person to find their choice of sitting by discarding learned cultural norms. Trusting in their touch, movement and the feelings that arise in reaction to these in order to find the most comfortable way of sitting. The structure of `The Body` is made from canvas and rice allowing it to be formed into reconfigurable rigid structures.
Enkovaara´s works visualise the meeting points between the material and natural world. Exploring human condition thru peoples synergy with objects is behind her interest to create objects. At this moment she is fascinated to go beyond obvious imitations of nature and capture natures own voice and behavior into a product. Believing in a possibility to connect natural forces and mass production in a new way. Kirsi Enkovaara is currently a student at Royal Collage of Art MA Design Products.
